Ross Barney Architects dedicates their practice to the design of “noble” projects — those that are important to daily life and require innovative interventions. After 40 years of success, and numerous seminal civic projects including Chicago’s Riverwalk, Ross Barney Architects needed a refresh to their identity and web presence in recognition of being awarded the 2021 Cooper Hewitt National Design Award for Architecture and Interior Design.

Span created a simple typemark identity system that is modern yet still organic, celebrating rbarc’s focus on human-centered architecture. The new website, developed on Craft, is designed to tell rich stories behind each project, celebrating the process behind each project in the studio’s portfolio as you scroll while offering maximum flexibility.
